“Fast and exciting – sets a new standard for sub-£1,000 road bikes”
Boardman Bikes
This new range covers road, mountain and performance hybrid bikes alongside clothing and accessories. It was important to find the right partner in order to take this exciting range to market, a company which shared our ambitions for the brand and also wanted to make great bikes easily available to the populous – Halfords was an obvious choice, especially since it is wholly committed to enhancing its overall commitment to the performance cycling sector.
Both the Pro and Team specification carbon frames are entirely handmade using technologically advanced unidirectional carbon fibre which is carefully layered to achieve the ideal combination of stiffness, lightweight and vertical compliance to ensure that you get the best possible power transfer and ride characteristics. The Team is from exactly the same mould as the two Pro machines, and utilises T700 carbon.
Aerodynamic downtube for enhanced airflow and oversized bottom bracket area for maximised power transfer. 1.5” lower headset bearing for increased stiffness and steering responsiveness. Internal cable routing for clean lines and accurate shifting performance. Sub UCI weight limit with race prepared components and a sub 1kg frame.

Review
by Mat Brett, Cycling Plus for BikeRadar.com
This is one high-class rig. Exceptionally light and incredibly quick, it performs like a bike costing hundreds of pounds more. In fact, we went back to distributor Halfords and checked the price twice, just to be sure there hadn’t been a mistake.
The frame and fork are fabulous, and the spec isn’t far behind. The low riding position won’t be to everyone’s taste, but we’ve no qualms in saying that it sets a new standard for sub-£1,000 road bikes.
Ride & handling: Fast, lively, assured, accurate … everything you want in a race-bred frame
Weighing in at just 8kg (17.6lb), the Team Carbon is extremely light for the money, and that’s evident from the first pedal stroke. Put your foot on the gas and the Boardman has a turn of speed that belongs to a bike costing way, way more. You’ll be stunned at just how much of a helping hand it gives you…..
