RIMS
All of our carbon wheels are built using structural carbon rims - this means that the carbon is ‘hard’ to touch and is a structural part of the wheel.
Carbon 50 wheels are available in either tubular or clincher version, Carbon 82 and 101’s are tubular only. We currently don’t sell the clinchers as rim only. Planet X offer a variety of rim drillings - 16h, 24h, and 32h.

The weights below are taken from actual wheels in the warehouse. However, there will be variations in the weight of wheels due to the nature of carbon fibre construction - you might be lucky and get a really light pair.
RIDER WEIGHT AND USAGE
We recommend carbon wheels for racing where the aerodynamics and stiffness will give the competitor that ‘edge’.
As a general rule of thumb, as the wind increases, the depth of your front wheel should decrease. However, rider weight, confidence and skill level also needs to be considered as the downward force through the wheel will also affect how the wheel will handle in crosswind situations. To summarize:

The clincher equivalent of the Pro Carbon 50 Tubular wheelset, the clincher wheelset offers the same performance benefits for those who don’t want to deal with tubulars. Available in both 700c and 650c options. Perfect for racing in all conditions. Suitable for individual or bunch racing.
PRO 82/101 Wheelset - Ideal for riders of all weights for time trialling and triathlons, although caution would be advised for riders under 65kg on ‘gusty’ nights. Could be used by the ‘bigger rider’ for road racing/crit racing but generally thought to be a little on the deep side.
